We Can Work The Co-creation Year 2023

Designing a multi-country, multi-partner, economic empowerment program for young persons with disabilities is challenging due to varying contexts and resources. The We Can Work program established principles of multi-stakeholder partnerships, local ownership, and youth leadership, requiring a unique design approach.
Co-creation, a human-centred design method, involves diverse stakeholders, ensuring decisions are shaped by those directly impacted. This fosters empathy, creativity, and ownership, leading to inclusive, sustainable solutions.
We Can Work included diverse perspectives and recognized the leadership of young Africans with disabilities, adapting human-centred design steps throughout. An Innovation Space continues the co-creation approach, prototyping and refining solutions for disability inclusion, ensuring ongoing program adaptation.
The Co-Creation Year Report for 2023 is now available, detailing these efforts and outcomes.
